What can I tell you about horseradish...Oh, just that it's only one of my very favorite things on earth. I love horseradish and could (and have) eaten it all by itself on more than one (hundred) occasions. So while my husband and I were eating out at a totally wicked pub the other day I ordered the fish and chips which came with a side of coleslaw and guess what. It was the best coleslaw I've ever had. The fish and chips were awesome too but I couldn't get over the spicy coleslaw. Secret ingredient-horseradish. Well, no wonder! I absolutely loved it and couldn't wait to get home to try and make it. After a few tweaks I think I got it. And with great thanks to the Duke of Bublin Irish Pub for the delicious inspiration I present you with my take on the horseradish coleslaw.
Recipe:
4 cups shredded green cabbage
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/8 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/8 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons prepared horseradish (add more to taste)
1 tablespoon spicy dijon mustard
Directions
1. Place the cabbage in a large mixing bowl.
2. In a small bowl, combine the vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper, mayonnaise, sour cream, horseradish, and mustard and stir to combine. Add the mayonnaise mixture to the cabbage and toss to thoroughly combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Congratulations! Haha, I do that too..when I had something really nice at a restaurant, I cant wait to go home and recreate it! Though most of the time it takes more than 1 try to make them taste exactly the same. I love coleslaws so I guess I'm gonna try this one out. ;-) I'd love to share this to my friends in Foodista too, just add the foodista widget for horseradish coleslaw at the end of this post, and that should do it. Thanks and keep on sharing ;-)
Cheers from Australia,
